Legal
Terms of Use
Last updated August 19, 2026. The short version: Atlas introduces clients to artists and then gets out of the way. We take no cut and we are not part of what you two agree.
For artists: Automated Booking terms
These are the terms you accept when you switch Automated Booking on.
- Atlas is a matchmaking service. We connect clients to you for a free consultation. We are not your employer, agent, manager, or business partner, and we are not a party to anything you and a client agree to.
- The consultation and everything after it is between you and the client. Any appointment, artwork, payment, deposit, or tattoo that follows is your business, conducted under your own policies.
- You are responsible for your own compliance. You agree to hold and maintain every license, permit, and health-and-safety standard required by your town, city, state or province, and country, including age verification, consent forms, and hygiene regulations. Atlas cannot and does not verify legal compliance for you.
- You release Atlas from liability. If a dispute, injury, loss, no-show, scheduling conflict, or any other issue arises from a consultation or anything that follows it, you agree it is resolved between you and the client without involving Atlas, and you agree not to hold Atlas liable.
- You control the switch. You can decline any request and turn Automated Booking off at any time. Bookings we facilitate are leads, not guarantees of work or income.
- The service is provided as-is. We work hard to keep calendars accurate, but you agree Atlas is not liable for sync delays, double-bookings, missed notifications, or downtime. Final schedule authority is your own calendar.
For artists: the Builder
The Builder is optional and runs only when you ask it to, by choosing "Build my page" at signup or in your studio.
- What it fetches, once. With your permission, we retrieve your own public content on your behalf: your public Instagram profile photo, up to three of your public post images, and your public bio text. One fetch, at your request. We never fetch again without you asking.
- What we store. We keep copies of those images on our servers so your page does not depend on Instagram links that expire. We may derive your shop name from locations you have publicly tagged, and place your city or shop on our map.
- Your edits always win. The Builder only fills fields that are empty. Anything you have written or uploaded is never touched, and you can edit or remove anything it added, at any time, from your studio.
- First-party carve-out. The no-scraping rule below binds third parties. It does not stop us from retrieving your own public content for you, at your request, which is what the Builder does.
For clients: what booking a consult means
By booking, you confirm you are 18 or older and agree that this is a free consultation only. No tattoo, price, or appointment is guaranteed. Your consultation and anything you arrange afterward is between you and the artist, under the artist's own policies and your local regulations. Atlas is a matchmaking service and is not a party to it. Never pay anyone to hold an Atlas consultation.
Money
Atlas takes 0% of your booking, and never handles client money. Whatever you and your artist agree is paid directly to them. Artists may choose a paid Atlas subscription for extra features on their own listing; that is the only money that ever reaches us.
Listings
Artists are listed because their work fits a style, hand-checked by a working tattoo artist. Listings are free and placement is not for sale. If you are listed and would rather not be, email us and we will remove you.
Using the site
Do not scrape, bulk-extract, or redistribute the directory or its data, and do not use it to send unsolicited messages to the artists listed. Automated access beyond ordinary search-engine and AI-assistant crawling is not permitted.
